Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the series, has always been targeted for creating one of the slowest manga series of all time. The narrative has been expanded over 1100+ manga chapters, and it is still going on strong.

However, what many fans won’t know is that the slow pacing of One Piece once became a big problem for Masashi Kishimoto and his creation, Naruto. Naruto was one of the biggest competitors of One Piece back in the day.
