Warner Bros. Discovery Stock Jumps on Max Streaming Momentum, Upbeat M&a Outlook
Updated: Investors pushed Warner Bros. Discovery stock to its highest levels in nearly nine months, rallying behind positive results and forecast for its Max streaming business and the possibility that Donald Trump’s incoming administration could grease the wheels for industry consolidation.
Wbd shares climbed more than 16% in early trading Thursday after the company reported Q3 results. The stock retreated somewhat to close at $9.37 per share, up 11.8% and the biggest gainers among major media stocks for the day. The rise came as major market indexes were mixed, with the Dow flat, S&P 500 +0.74% and Nasdaq Composite +1.51% Thursday following a post-election bump for all three Wednesday.
