While there is not much left about the Prince of Persia franchise, it once offered players engaging gameplay filled with parkour and an immersive narrative before the Assassin’s Creed series took over. Arguably the best title in the series is Warrior Within which marked a significant evolution of the gameplay and narrative from its predecessor, The Sands of Time.

While The Sands of Time was a critical and commercial success, it left some room for improvement in the gameplay experience, particularly its use of the sand powers. In an interview, Executive Producer Yannis Mallat revealed that the team was dissatisfied with how these core elements were implemented which led to the improvements seen in Warrior Within.
