Before the Uncharted movie would finally be released in theaters in 2022, there were plenty of production troubles and several changes in directors. One such director attached to the project at one point was Seth Gordon, who just had his latest movie, Back in Action, released on Netflix this past weekend. While it was Ruben Fleischer who ultimately ended up directing the project, Gordon's role in the film's pre-production was essential to the final version.

In an exclusive interview with Collider, Gordon divulged details about how his work on the film would overlap with Fleischer's film production, before the Sony email leaks eventually led to him exiting the adaptation. Specifically, it was a member of the director's crew for his 2025 Netflix film that also ended up working on Uncharted in 2021.
