Kumail Nanjiani Returns to Stand-Up Comedy After 10 Years With New Hulu Special
Kumail Nanjiani is returning to stand-up comedy after 10 years with a new special for Hulu.
The hour is Nanjiani’s first comedy special in 12 years, his second after 2013’s “Beta Male.” A release date and title will be revealed at a later date.
ITV America and TheYearOfElan will produce the new special, which is executive produced by Nanjiani, Elan Gale and Bernie Schaeffer.
Nanjiani is a comedian and actor best known for his roles in the HBO comedy series “Silicon Valley” and the romantic comedy film “Big Sick,” which he co-wrote with his wife, Emily V. Gordon, about their relationship. His credits range from blockbuster fare to beloved comedy programs. Nanjiani is an Oscar nominee for the “Big Sick” screenplay and an Emmy nominee for his guest role in an episode of Jordan Peele’s reboot of “The Twilight Zone,” as well as his lead role in the Hulu limited series “Welcome to Chippendales.
