Oshi no Ko Actor Leads Japan's 'First AI Anime' in Spring 2025 Season
Japan is taking yet another enormous leap with artificial intelligence. Recently, Oshi no Ko star Yurie Igoma announced her lead role in TwinsHinahima -- an upcoming anime that will be produced with AI technology.
Per Oricon, Frontier Works (Higurashi: When They Cry) is partnering with newly-founded studio KaKa Creation to develop the AI that will be utilized for the anime. According to Anime News Network, AI will be used in over 95% of the total animation cuts. The anime will be broadcast nationally via Mainichi Broadcasting System (Mbs) starting March 29. Igoma, who portrayed Ruby Hoshino in the hit anime drama, Oshi no Ko, will co-star as the character Hinana. The actor revealed some details about her character's personality in a published comment, stating, "Hinana has a very rich expression and emotion, and watching her makes you smile naturally!"
