Tony Gilroy Crafted Andor’s Most Uncomfortable Romance, and It’s Brilliant
Truth be told, love is a luxury in a galaxy far, far away. And in Andor Season 2, it becomes scarcer still, thanks to the ruthless ways of the Galactic Empire. Sure, it’s easy to root for Bix and Cassian’s romance because who wouldn’t want a feel-good connection to side with the Rebels?
But Season 2 delivers a love story that’s captivating precisely because it’s born in the heart of darkness. A lot of us were looking forward to it. Tony Gilroy finally did end up pairing two of the show’s most terrifying Imperial loyalists into a twisted, yet strangely compelling narrative. Yes, Syril Karn and Dedra Meero are officially a couple in Season 2. They live together in a cushy Coruscant high-rise, no less. And we just can’t get enough of it.
