I Didn't Mean To Shed a Tear

Combining comedy and drama is nothing new but sometimes you find yourself surprised when a film you thought would be funny, in most part, became much more sad than you thought. Sometimes it's the humorous poster, the actors you're not used to seeing in dramatic scenes (like Adam Sandler and Dom DeLuise), the innocent plot that didn't reveal what would happen next - all of these factors make you surprised that the film became much more serious and sad than you thought. Some of these films introduce painful social phenomena (like discrimination in employment on the basis of age, immigration, divorce), some talk about human emotions such as loneliness, pain, and lack of self confidence. In a few movies there is an unexpected death. So which comedy that looked hilarious on paper is actually quite depressing? From this list, pick the most unexpectedly depressing comedy film. Regardless of your opinion about the film. All of this doesn't mean that some of the films on the list are not funny; they are just sad and even depressing in parts. Discuss Here
