2018 marks 50 years since the release of the first Planet of the Apes film. Since then, we've seen the original spawn an additional four chapters, a modern-day reboot in 2001, and a second reboot - a trilogy which ended just last year. Critical acclaim hasn't been kind to Planet of the Apes. Audiences have made known their apathy to the series in recent times, although the original sparked the imaginations of many, especially those who were quite young at the time.
