Join A Television Family: 1980-1999 Edition

If you are/were a teenager, which of these television families would you like to join? Eligible candidates for this list * Pretend the storyline is "real" - you're not an actor with that cast, you're in the world created by that show in that family as a full fledged member of that family (for better or worse!) * started airing between 1980-1999. (we'll do other polls for other eras), * have at least one parent and one child already. You are another child, assuming the current parent or parent(s) stay and the current kids are your "siblings". * are live action * there's no "supernatural/alien/magic" element - that's for another poll! * the family interactions are "central" to the theme and not incidental. Mid-Season Replacement Comedy TV Series

A mid-season replacement TV series is a show that takes the place of another cancelled show due to poor ratings or some other reason between December and May. These shows are often second stringers that didn't make the fall line-up. Networks are hopeful they will catch on, but often their role is to hold on until the roll-out of the new fall line-up. Every once in a while, networks catch lightning in a bottle and these fill-ins become wildly successful, anchoring the network's lineup for years and spawning multiple spin-offs. Which mid-season replacement comedy TV series* best filled its role as a fill-in and more? * minimum four plus seasons with December through May premiere Vote in the companion poll: Mid-Season Replacement Drama TV Series Discuss the topic here.

In Memoriam: Tim Conway

Beloved comedic actor and father Tim Conway passed away on May 14th, 2019 at the age of 85. The former Army veteran Conway got his start after being spotted by Rose Marie, co-star of The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961), who arranged an audition for Tim on The Steve Allen Plymouth Show (1956). That was enough exposure to launch his career in Hollywood. Conway will be best remembered for his work on The Carol Burnett Show (1967), McHale's Navy (1964) as Ensign Charles Parker and most recently on Chip and Bernie Save Christmas with Dorf (2016) as Dorf. But in between those roles he managed to rack up many other memorable appearances. Tim will sadly be missed. Condolences to the family by all of us here at IMDb. Please visit Tim Conway's web page here. Which appearance from the list below do you best remember Tim for? After selecting your favorite, stop by here and leave your memories and kind words.
