The period that ran roughly between 1948 and 1959 is referred to by many historians and scholars of the medium as the “Golden Age” of television. Mark VII Limited

Founded in 1951 by Jack Webb, Mark VII Limited was a prolific production studio known as a pioneer in producing straight-to-the-point, procedural dramatic TV series. Their series were (primarily) known for their gritty realism and attention to detail. Mark VII's well-known and often spoofed production logo of a hand striking a stamp with a hammer before revealing the Roman numeral VII indented between the text "Mark" and "Limited" was just as well-known and memorable.
