Goodbye Blue Sky
Just two years after acquiring it when it bought 20th Century Fox, Disney has announced it will be closing Blue Sky Animation Studios. This puts an end to a studio founded 34 years ago with a box office of over $5.9 billion dollars worldwide. During its history, Blue Sky earned two Best Animated Feature Oscar nominations, as well as one award and two nominations for their shorts. Sherman Brothers
The Sherman Brothers were an American songwriting duo that specialized in musical films, made up of brothers Robert B. Sherman (1925 – 2012) and Richard M. Sherman (born 1928). Together they received various accolades including 2 Academy Awards and 3 Grammy Awards. In 1976 they received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Sherman Brothers wrote more motion-picture musical song scores than any other songwriting team in film history. Among their most famous works are the theme park songs There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow and It's A Small World (After All).
