Movies About Movies
Technically, these movies are about more than just movies. Cinema. Stories. Media. Whatever you wanna call it. We create narratives, hold them in our head, and share them with others. From where I'm sitting, this seems to be what distinguishes humans from other animals. And it's what I love more than anything in the world. DON JON pokes fun at how all kinds of media can lead us to unrealistic expectations of life, love, sex, and relationships. These ten films tell all kinds of stories about telling stories. - Joseph Gordon-Levitt

QT 4 Film Festival
In 2000 director Quentin Tarantino attended the fourth QT Film Festival, held by the Austin Film Society in Austin, Texas. Tarantino introduces all the films himself, shows trailers for all kinds of films and discusses the films with attendees. If you could watch a movie at the QT 4 Film Festival, which movie would you choose? These 7 movies (with the lowest IMDb rating) didn't make it to the list: The Muthers (1968), Some Like It Cool (1977), The Huns (1960), Message from Space (1978), The Giant of Metropolis (1961), Chinese Godfather (1974), Operazione Goldman (1966). Best 'Picaresque' Movie
The picaresque novel is a literary genre that can be summed up as "fictional autobiography" (or fictionalized). It depicts the adventures of a hero (generally a sympathetic outsider) whose fate primarily depends on his own wits but also on various encounters and strikes of luck, sometimes bad. Told in first person, there's no real plot, rather a series of disconnected episodes since the 'picaro' can't maintain a social status or hold a job for a long time. There's little character development personality-wise, as the essence of the "picaro" is to remain a picaro, it's the world around him that changes and its depiction always carries an element of satire that makes the story captivating and relevant. All the following movies present at least some, if not all, diverse characteristics of the 'picaresque' genre. Which of the following 'picaresque' movies is your favorite? After voting, you may discuss the list here
