At the age of 20, she made her first big screen appearance in the film Satisfaction (1988). Only 2 years later she became known to worldwide audiences when she starred in Pretty Woman (1990). After her breakthrough she was the highest-paid actress in the world throughout most of the 1990s and in the first half of the 2000s.
