Comedy that misses the mark...
I walked into "Kinda Pregnant" with an open mind, despite not being a fan of Amy Schumer's previous work. I've always believed that a movie can be bad and still be entertaining, as long as it's not boring. Unfortunately, "Kinda Pregnant" fails miserably in this regard. This movie, for me, is a total loss - a mind-numbing, cringe-worthy, and downright boring experience that left me checking my watch.
The plot, is predictable and formulaic, with Schumer's character navigating a series of unoriginal and unfunny misadventures. The jokes fall flat, the characters are one-dimensional, and the dialogue is stilted and unconvincing. But hey, bad movies can still be fun, right? Not in this case.
The problem with "Kinda Pregnant" is that it's just so... dull. The pacing is plodding, the editing is lazy, and the whole thing feels like a slog to get through. I didn't laugh, I didn't cry, and I didn't care about any of the characters or their storylines. I was just bored, plain and simple.
Amy Schumer, who I've never seen in anything before, didn't do much to win me over. Her performance is wooden and unengaging, and she struggles to elevate the weak material. The supporting cast doesn't fare much better, with most of the actors feeling like they're just going through the motions.
Overall, "Kinda Pregnant" is a waste of time. It's not funny, it's not interesting, and it's not even bad in a good way. It's just boring, and that's the worst sin a movie can commit. If you value your sanity, stay far, far away from this mess. 1/10, and that's being generous.
