Who knew that Keri Russell had that "it factor" and could carry a Netflix series from start to finish? Clearly I was in that fold who did not and I was completely wrong in that decision. Russell has made her role as Ambassador Katie Wyler her signature piece. The character has fire, grit, intelligence, with a touch of emotional intelligence that draws in the viewer and roots for her as she attempts to dance through a political landmine with a dicey marriage partner who has their own personal eyes on political power. The series is written exceptionally well which helps the viewer understand the international political world without losing their interest. The supporting cast (Rufus Sewell, David Gyasi, Ato Essandoh, and Nana Mensah) each brought their own weight to their respective roles which made the series all the more enjoyable to watch and they bring their own free flowing experiences as they work for and with Ambassador Wyler. Even Michael Mckean aka "Lenny" from the iconic show Laverne and Shirley was seen as credible character as the cranky POTUS by this reviewer. Salute to Netflix for green lighting this series!
