Like many Apple shows, this series is beautifully shot, an artistic eye coupled with clear visuals. The costuming is spot-on, lending a depth to this multi-generational tale. However, what is most beautiful to me is the language.
This show utilizes Korean, Japanese, and English to tell its story because language is important. There is a scene in the second episode where an older woman expresses that her own grandchildren do not speak the language in which she dreams. Powerful! Language is a carrier of culture and nuance, and I appreciate this show's care with it.
This is a beautifully written drama. In found myself pausing and reflecting on the more poignant dialogue. So much truth in this show.
