Who is this guy?
Adam Dick has over fifteen years of experience in screenwriting and independent filmmaking, from development through distribution. He is serious about his craft, is always learning, and retains a sense of humor because it helps keep him (and everyone on set) sane.
Where did this guy come from? What's he done?
Originally working in his home Chicagoland area, Adam produced a series of micro-budget projects before co-writing and producing the narrative feature "NightLights," starring Shawna Waldron and Stephen Louis Grush, about a young woman who cares for an adult brother on the autism spectrum. The film earned him, the lead cast and fellow filmmakers praise from publications such as the Los Angeles Times and LA Weekly, and subsequently won a 2015 PRISM Award along with several festival accolades. It made its prime time television premiere on the LMN Network, Easter Sunday 2015.
Adam took his experience on "NightLights" and other projects to Los Angeles, where he continued to write, direct short films, and collaborate as a producer. This ultimately led him to write and produce his feature directorial debut with 2019's "Teacher," starring David Dastmalchian and Kevin Pollak. The film currently holds a 100% among critics on Rotten Tomatoes. In addition, it was named LA Weekly's Critics' Pick of the Week and was lauded by the LA Times as "a tense and propulsive thriller with several vital, provocatively rendered thoughts on its seething mind."
What's this guy doing now?
Adam has also built an impressive list of screenwriting competition credentials, including Finalist placements with Stage 32 & ScreenCraft and two semi-finalist placements with the Austin Film Festival. Committed as always to supporting fellow artists' work, Adam is currently an Executive Producer on Jessica Rae's narrative feature "Raise Your Hand," which is completing its festival run, including at the prestigious 25th annual American Black Film Festival.
Adam continues to write and develop feature film and television projects. He is a fervent collaborator, a science and sci-fi lover, and has come to believe that he can cook.
Articles about Adam and his work have appeared in publications such as Variety, Deadline, the Wrap, the Los Angeles Times, LA Weekly, Flickering Myth, and Collider, among others. He has a master's in writing from DePaul University and a BA in English from Lake Forest College.

Adam recently wrapped filming "Ford vs. Ferrari," starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale, a 20th Century Fox production directed by James Mangold, The true story of the battle between Ford and Ferrari to win Le Mans in 1966. Adam portrays race car driver, Lloyd Ruby. Adam is now co-starring in the Netflix series, "The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell,"-portraying the befuddled, but kindhearted, serial-killing boyfriend of McConnell. Part cooking show, part sitcom in the vein of the Addams Family and the Muppet Show set inside the enchanted home of Christine McConnell. Other recent credits include: "Christmas Harmony," starring Chandra Wilson and Kelley Jakle; "A Neighbor's Deception," (a Lifetime original); and CBS's NCIS appearing as Tall Tony. Other credits: NBC's "Days of our Lives"; as well as a slew of Christmas romantic comedies for Hallmark; Jenny Garth's husband in the ABC sitcom, "Mystery Girls", and his long-running portrayal of Scott Chandler in ABC's "All My Children." While filming the psychological thriller, "Would You Rather," he accepted the award for Best Feature Film at the St. Tropez International Film Festival for "The Preacher's Daughter." Adam lives in Los Angeles with his producer/actress wife, Virginia Novello- Adam is a classically trained actor from the Jersey Shore. He has entertained audiences all over the country and abroad, as well as in New York City where he resides. Adam holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting from Ohio University and has also studied at the State Theatre Arts Academy, in St. Petersburg, Russia. He was last seen as the title role in "Hamlet" at the Red House Arts Center in Syracuse, NY where he garnered the 2013 Syracuse Area Live Theatre (SALT) Award for Actor of the Year. He will next be seen on stage in NYC in "The Penguin Tango" in December 2014. Working on "Trafico" has been an extraordinary experience for Adam because of the stakes. Human trafficking is an ugly underworld that hasn't gotten the mainstream media coverage that it warrants. Having a chance to work on a project that shines a spotlight on this horrible trade gives him the opportunity to inform an audience as well as explore deep and sometimes, dark human behavior.
