Thomas Grant Gustin, better known as Grant Gustin, is an American actor and singer. He is known for his roles as Barry Allen / Flash on the CW series The Flash and as Sebastian Smythe on the Fox series Glee.
Gustin was born on January 14, 1990 in Norfolk, Virginia. He is the son of Dr. Tina Lynne (Sweeney) Haney, a pediatric nurse, and Thomas Avery Gustin. During his high school years, Grant attended the Governor's School for the Arts program in Norfolk, Virginia for Musical Theatre. He also went to Hurrah Players Incorporated which is a theatre organization in Virginia. In 2008, he graduated from Granby High School and went on to attend the BFA Music Theatre Program at Elon University in North Carolina for two years. He left school to take the role of Baby John in the Broadway Revival Tour of West Side Story, and performed with the tour from its opening on September 30, 2010 through September 23, 2011.
On November 8, 2011, he debuted on the television series Glee as Sebastian Smythe, an openly gay member of the Dalton Academy Warblers. Gustin won the recurring role of Sebastian, a promiscuous and scheming character, after "an exhaustive, weeks-long casting search". He originally auditioned for a role as a tap dancer, but did not get the part. However, Ryan Murphy kept him in mind. He began filming the role early on Monday, September 26, 2011, after having finished his final West Side Story performance the Friday night before. Gustin began filming A Mother's Nightmare (2012), an original film for the Lifetime network, in late May 2012. The project also stars actresses Annabeth Gish and Jessica Lowndes, and was shot in Canada. On July 11, 2012, it was announced that Gustin had landed a major role in the independent film Affluenza. On September 13, 2013, it was announced that Gustin would play Barry Allen in the second season of Arrow. He was initially supposed to appear in three episodes, the last one serving as the backdoor pilot for a potential spin-off Flash series. However, the backdoor pilot plan was dropped in favor of a stand-alone pilot, titled The Flash. The pilot was picked up with an initial order of thirteen episodes, and the series premiered on October 7, 2014, with 4.8 million viewers, the most for a premiere on The CW in five years. Two weeks later, the network increased the episode order to a full season of twenty-three in all. On January 11, 2015, the show was renewed for a second season. On March 11, 2016, it was renewed for a third season. Gustin also reprised his role in an episode of CBS series Supergirl.
In 2017, he co-starred with Nick Robinson in William H. Macy's film Krystal (2017).
In 2018, he married Andrea Thoma.- Actress

Emmy Raver-Lampman (born Emily Christine Raver Lampman) is an American actress and singer. She began her career working in musical theater, and has performed in various Broadway and national touring productions such as Hair, Jekyll & Hyde, Wicked, and Hamilton. She has played Allison Hargreeves in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy since 2019.- American actress Emily Ann Banks was born in Norfolk, Virginia, but spent much of her childhood in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where her father served in the military (he later found work as a graphic artist). After high school, Emily graduated from Simmons University in Boston and then embarked on a brief career as a model. This culminated in her election as 'Miss Rheingold' in 1960. She made several ads for the beer brand and featured as a model on a game show in 1963. On screen from 1966, Emily featured rarely on the big screen. She had a small part as a receptionist in an Elvis Presley vehicle, Live a Little, Love a Little (1968), played Buffalo Bill's wife Louisa Maud Frederici in The Plainsman (1966) and essayed the nominal female lead in a minor western, Gunfight in Abilene (1967), opposite Bobby Darin (who also wrote the theme song).
Better utilised in TV roles, Emily Banks became perhaps best known for her small role as Yeoman Tonia Barrows in the episode 'Shore Leave' of Star Trek (1966). In addition to assorted guest spots, she finally achieved star billing herself in a short-lived (though possibly underrated) sitcom, The Tim Conway Show (1970), as the girlfriend of a charter line pilot. Ironically, in real life, one of her main aspirations had been to become a pilot. A sporty type, Emily's preferred pastimes at this time in her career were said to have been swimming, diving, horseback riding and baseball. - John Wesley Shipp was born in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. Gaining fame on TV first, he was born Timothy Lee Reid on December 19, 1944, in Norfolk and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia. Coming from a troubled, impoverished childhood, he straightened out his life enough to attend Norfolk State College (now University) and graduate with a business administration degree. Married to wife Rita, whom he met at college, the couple went on to have two children, Tim Reid II and Tori Reid, both involved in the entertainment field.
Tim worked for Du Pont Chemicals in Chicago for a period of time in the late 60s. His first taste of the limelight came around the turn of the 70s when he met an insurance agent named Tom Dreesen, and the two decided to form a comedy nightclub act called "Tim and Tom". At this juncture, Tim decided to focus completely on acting, took up drama classes, and worked as a comic. TV and commercial work started coming his way, finding regular placements on a number of variety series that starred Frankie Avalon, The 5th Dimension singers Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., and Richard Pryor in the late 70s.
Making early appearances on such TV shows as "That's My Mama," "Rhoda," "Fernwood Tonite," "Lou Grant," "What's Happening" and "Maude," Tim received his star-making break after nabbing the cool and very hip role of "Venus Flytrap" on TV's WKRP in Cincinnati (1978). It is this radio disc jockey character for which Tim is still best known. Other TV series came his way, including his regular teacher role in the Lynn Redgrave sitcom Teachers Only (1982) and as Lt. Marcel "Downtown" Brown on Simon & Simon (1981)
Now firmly established, Tim started taking more control over his career. He went on to front the series Frank's Place (1987) in which he also executive-produced, received an Emmy nomination, and co-starred with his second wife Daphne Reid before playing a criminology professor in the comedy Snoops (1989), which also co-starred Daphne as his wife, and the more popular Sister, Sister (1994), wherein he starred alongside Jackée Harry as an adopted dad of identical twins Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry-Housley.
Tim and Daphne went to to co-founded their own production studio (New Millennium Studios), the first ever built in his native state of Virginia. The short-lived program Linc's (1998), starring both Tim and Daphne, was the first to come out of the studio. Over the years, Daphne has been a frequent partner to Tim both in front and behind the camera lens, as actress and co-producer. Together they appeared in the TV movie Alley Cats Strike (2000) and the films Troop 491: the Adventures of the Muddy Lions (2013) and By the Grace of Bob (2016).
Toning down his slick facade over the years, the handsome, mustachioed actor has dedicated himself to films and other projects that have raised social issues as well as increase black awareness. He directed and starred in a hip-hop update of the Pygmalion story with the comedy For Real (2003), which was made at his studio (Daphne was executive producer). With Tim in the "Henry Higgins" role, the film opened the fifth anniversary of the Hollywood Black Film Festival.
In addition to recurring roles on Treme (2010) and That '70s Show (1998) and guest appearances on such shows as "Touched by an Angel," "That's So Raven," "The Soul Man," "Limitless," "Grey's Anatomy" and "My, Myself and I," Tim has graced such films as Trade (2007), The Cost of Heaven (2010), Tri (2016) and 93 Days (2016).- Actress
