Annabel Scholey is an English actress from West Yorkshire. Known for BBC ONE drama 'The Sixth Commandment', written by Sarah Phelps, in which she portrayed Anne-Marie Blake. The mini-series won a BAFTA TV Award in 2024 for 'Best One-Off Drama'. Annabel starred in the independent film 'Chuck Chuck Baby' alongside Louise Brealey, which was Janis Pugh's debut production for Film Cymru. The film was released in 2024 in both UK and US and was warmly received by critics and audiences alike. Scholey is also known for her recurring role of Nina in BBC ONE drama 'The Split', in which she stars alongside Nicola Walker, Stephen Mangan and Fiona Button. In 2021, she played Sarah Bailey in the critically acclaimed mini-series 'The Salisbury Poisonings', and in 2023 played the title role in 'Serial Killer's Wife' for Paramount Plus UK. Other work includes Sky series 'Britannia', written by Jez Butterworth, in which she played Amena for three seasons. Jane McDonald grew up in Wakefield, England, UK. Jane's father, Peter, was a miner, who doubled as a chimney-sweep. Jane's mother, Jean, and Jane's grandmother ran a boarding-house in Wakefield. Jane has a brother, Tony, and a sister, Janet. For 12 years, Jane sang in clubs throughout Northern England and on various cruise ships. Holly was then offered the high profile role of Leigh-Ann Galloway, the school bully on the BBC's prime time, award winning TV drama Waterloo Road where she starred with great British actors such as Denise Welch, Angela Griffin, Jason Merrells and Jamie Glover.
After her role as Leigh-Anne, Holly continued to get roles in the UK's top TV programmes, The Bill (1984), Doctors (2000) and Criminal Justice (2008).
She appeared in pantomime for several years and played the part of Juliet in a theatre tour of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
