Also, Roussakoff and Doyle investigate an abusive husband and decide to teach him a lesson about the results of domestic abuse. Elsewhere, Santoro and Donovan commence their plans to remove Captain Sorela as their boss by playing on his paranoia to make him think that he's under investigation which leads to the officious captain quiting as the station's chief.

Attendants rush up and carry away the injured man.

His little son, however, has been on his trail and brings his mother to the scene, where she asserts herself in a positive manner and leads her erring husband away by the ear. The girl, weeping and regretful, throws herself into the arms of the happy Boob.

The film depicts characters whose fate is to search for a homeland, with no great fuss about it but with laconic humour and an often fairy-tale ambience. Isaak, his friend Moshe, and Moshe's wife, Genovefa, leave New York and set off for Poland. The three of them are all in the same boat, get stranded in Germany, celebrate Christmas in Berlin, and finally end up in Poland...
