- In ancient China, a demon was defeated in a fierce battle with a priest, who sealed it's evil spirit in a vase. Centuries later, during the cultural revolution, rebels attempted to gain possession of the vessel from the priest's descendant; however, he threw it into the ocean to keep it from being tampered. The vase was recovered years later in Hong Kong and was auctioned off to a councilman. The demon, unfortunately, escaped and took control of the councilman's body, beginning a spree of terror in the city.
- A group of male cadets tangle with a gang of robbers before they even enter the Hong Kong Police Academy, where they are trained by a fierce police chief. They must deal with the robbers successfully if the want to prove to their superiors their worthiness in the police force. Things get complicated when one of the cadets falls in love with the chief's daughter.
- Naomi, a corporate heiress from Japan, vacations to Hong Kong with her two colleagues. Bored, she sneaks out to visit the city and befriends a local rock band and, appreciative of the company, later helps the members with their debit issues. Taxi Driver Cheung runs into bad luck when he encounters strange and mysterious customers during his night shift. That same night, his friend and colleague Fat moves to a new home with his wife and son to hide from loan sharks, and his luck turns when he discovers his new home is haunted by a demon, who promises him sudden wealth. Years later, Fat's son is employed as a security officer at a business firm. There, he encounters paranormal activities during his night shift.

Shishedo (Allen Ting), a mortician, is grief-stricken when his favorite singer is killed in a car accident. As a result, he vows to help her get the most "appropriate" burial. Afterward, Shishedo disappears and leaves his co-workers to deal with the ghostly aftermath. In the next segment, Gigi (Christine Ng) wants a memorial service for her departed mother (Lan Law). Seizing the opportunity, Shishedo's co-workers coaxed Gigi into purchasing tons of service materials from them. Upset at the greed, the ghost of Gigi's mother returns to haunt the workers. Lastly, Hung (Fennie Yuen) was dumped by her boyfriend Daviv because the thought of her working at the mortuary doesn't appeal to him. When Hung does the unthinkable to escape the pain, Daviv finds himself facing retribution.

The first story is about a girl that called a radio show for advice and comfort after her boyfriend died tragically. One of the station DJs unconsciously suggested that she should commit suicide if she wants to be reunited with her beau. Unfortunately, the girl takes the suggestion and the DJ becomes racked with guilt as the girl's ghost returns to haunt him. The second story is about a group of friends voyage to the sea. During the trip, they encountered mysterious events after they rescued an eerie woman from a boat wreckage. The third story is about another DJ that quit his job after the untimely deaths of his co-workers. To escape the pain, he becomes a street racer. But, his thrill rides were hindered when he stumbled upon a sinister spirit by the roadside.

There, they encounter the characters of the famous Chinese Story "The Water Margin," a story that takes place about a thousand years ago in ancient China involving a cruel government, con artists, a beautiful but crafty village girl and a sword-wielding martial artist trying to overcome all the adversaries.

The outcome of this second story leads to Ken's friend Jojo being courted by a ghost, and ultimately leads to the final story where Peter Butt unknowingly visits a haunted theater with some of Ken's friends.

- "Vampire Buster" Lam Ching-Ying returns as Master Gao in this vampire-filled adventure. Here, he joins forces with his colleagues in ridding their village of restless ghosts, Chinese vampires and zombies. Meanwhile, Gao must also deal with his corrupted senior colleague and a beautiful female ghost, who befriended his two apprentices.
- Taiwanese triad leader Chung Chan (Jeffrey Lau) demands that the Saint of Gamblers, Chow Sing Cho (Stephen Chow), play cards for him at an upcoming gambling tournament - at the stake of his Uncle Blackie Tat's (Man Tat Ng) life. However, because Sing is away traveling around the world, Tat hopes that Sing's sister Mei (Anita Mui) would enter the tournament, as she has magical powers like her brother. As a result, this leaves Tat to seek out the dicey Queen Of Gamblers (Carol 'Do Do' Cheng) to play for him instead.

Hot on their trail is a hothead inspector (Ching Wong) and a nun, Sister Maria (Brigitte Lin), who wants to save them for redemption.
