- The first film directed by a female director, "The Cabbage Fairy" presents a brief fantasy tale involving a strange fairy who can produce and deliver babies coming out of cabbages. Gently moving through the cabbages and using of lovely gestures, she takes one baby out of there, then makes more magic and delivers two more.
- In 1896, cinema pioneer Louis Lumière decided to register a man doing impressive tricks on his bicycle, closely observed by a curious crowd. Riding it backwards or standing on the top of the bike, sometimes in a clumsy way, other times like a master of this craft, the man seems to be enjoying himself while leaving the passers by truly wanting to know how he manages to perform all those tricks.
- Lumière brothers present in "Départ de cyclistes" ("Departure of Cyclists") a black and white short piece following the starting point of a highly disputed bicycle race with several cycle runners crossing over a famous French avenue. While the countless bicycles and runners come and go from our view, there's also time to notice the observers on each side of the avenue watching the event with a great sense of curiosity.
- A black and white short film from the Lumière company which presents two hungry tigers at a zoo who are constantly provoked by a trainer, who keeps teasing both animals with a juicy piece of meat. The ferocious animals move frantically, following their food and always trying their best to reach out and grab it in the best possible way, trying to win the efforts from the human creature.

The brief fragments presents a greedy old man who keep turning down several people who come to him in need for money, and every time one of those poor individuals leave his house, he goes back to hide all of his treasured fortune. But he's about to face a simple twist of fate.
