- After Bapujirao Nagvekar betrays widower Vishnu Chavan, and takes over his land. Vishnu swears to avenge this, relocates to the city along with his son, Shyam, and after working for years as a laborer, passes away - but not before asking Shyam to avenge this humiliation. Shyam is unemployed, but after rescuing Reshma, DSP Thorat, hires him as a Sub-Inspector, and assigns him to Daryapur. This is where Shyam will meet with Reshma again, both will fall in love with each other, with blessings from her father, Siddharth Anant Phadke, a known political opponent of MLA Bapujirao. Shyam decides to fulfill his father's dying wish and arrests some of Nagvekar's goon. It is then Shyam will find himself alienated from his very own peers, be instructed to release Nagvekar's goon, and must also deal with the sudden disappearance of Reshma and her dad.
- Superintendent of Police Arun is a hardworking, honest and diligent police officer in Bombay. He has been assigned to lead the detail in charge of the state's Chief Minister's protection. Things do not go as planned, and the Chief Minister is killed. The police find evidence linking Arun with this killing, and have him arrested and imprisoned. - Young and attractive Geeta lives a fairly wealthy lifestyle along with her mom - Savitri, dad - Colonel Rajesh, and brother - Bunty. The family decide to have a get together with the Verma family, which consists of Police Inspector Verma, his wife, and son, Anil. When the Vermas get to Rajesh's residence, they find the house in flames, a traumatized Geeta, the charred remains of her parents, and Bunty missing. Verma takes Geeta home, adopts her, and does not her know that her parents were brutally murdered for fear of traumatizing her even more. Years later Anil has grown up and is now a Police Inspector, while his dad is the D.I.G.. Anil and Geeta fall in love and get married. Then Anil is assigned the murder case of an underworld gangster, Rana. Before he could even conclude his investigation, another gangster, Pinto, is killed. Both Anil and his dad suspect that Geeta may have had a hand in their killing but are unable to prove anything yet decide to keep an eye on her. Geeta subsequently gets pregnant followed by the brutal killing of another gangster, Jagdish Kumar. Anil and his dad confront Geeta but she manages to escape, dons the disguise of a nun, calls herself Mrs. D'Sa, and decides to hunt down the final killer of her family - Sangram Singh. Now visibly pregnant she must now confront a hit-man named Shambhu as well as be on the run from her husband, her father-in-law, the entire Police Force, as well as locate the elusive Sangram, who is believed to be in jail for another murder. The question remains who will assist Geeta, and how will she finally avenge the death of her parents?
- Maharaj Bahadur Singh falls in love with Parvati, gets intimate with her, resulting in her getting pregnant, but he is forced to get married to a much wealthier woman. After giving birth to a son, Gunawar, Parvati disappears from Bahadur's life. Bahadur's wife also gives birth to a boy, Vikram, and compels her husband to make him the next Maharaj. Gunawar excels in swordplay, grows up, albeit a bit senile and childlike, while Vikram grows up arrogant, befriends Senapati Shamsher Singh, and both hope to take over the reigns of this kingdom. When Bahadur opposes their sinister designs, Shamsher has him arrested and lodged in a dungeon. When Gunawar finds out that atrocities are carried out by Shamsher and Vikram, he dons a mask, calls himself Zorro, and comes to the rescue of Shamsher's victims. The wily Shamsher concocts a scheme with convict, Sher Singh, to lure and kill Zorro. But Murphy's Law prevails, and Sher and Zorro become friends. But not for long as they are destined to become mortal enemies, especially after Sher finds out that Zorro is really Rajkumar Gunawar and is colluding with Shamsher to carry out atrocities on the villagers.

- This movie revolves around a village hospital that was built by a generous hearted man, Choudhury Ramprasad (Ashok Kumar) who is also a patient in the hospital. The other patients include Isamil (Iftekhar), Dayaram (Anwar Hussain), Ratan (Jalal Agha), and the doctor is Dr. Sunil (Sunil Dutt). Amongst the patient is a singer (Deb Mukherji), who loves Shyama (Farida Jalal) a worker in the hospital. When Meeta Sharma (Waheeda Rehman) comes to the hospital to admit her son, she meets Sunil and their romance is rekindled. In the background of the hospital atmosphere is an election in the village, which is proceeding smoothly, but causing a disturbance is Ramprasad's son (Ramesh Deo). Other supporting caste include Jagirdar, Chand Usmani, and Jankidas.
- Murad Hussein and Gul Baloch have been enemies for years. Murad would like to propose a truce so that the two families become friends again, and for this occasion he has chosen to marry his brother to Gul's sister. The wedding is arranged and Gul and his family are accordingly invited. Gul does attend the wedding, bless the couple, and when night came, he and his accomplices brutally kill every male in the household, including his very own brother-in-law. Gul's sister loses her sanity, and is taken back home, where he lives with his daughter, Jameela. Gul's sister gives birth to a baby boy, Yusuf Zayed. Years later, Jameela has grown up, albeit disabled with a thinking of a one year old in the body of a nine year old. She is fascinated by aspiring Bollywood singer, Amar, and Gul abducts him and makes him Jameela's companion. In the meantime, Yusuf finds out that his mother has been feigning mental illness, and is able to recollect everything that happened on her wedding night. She asks Yusuf to kill Gul and Jameela, to which Yusuf agrees. The question remains, will Yusuf be able to kill his very own maternal uncle, and cousin, with the same cold-bloodlessness as Gul had displayed several years ago, or will employ some other means?
- Harikishan saves the life of his employer, Jagjit Singh alias JJ, only to receive a huge wage increase. All excited; Harikishan agrees to change his name to Harry and successfully carry out any task executed to him. He then realize he is indulging himself in illegal activities only to confront his boss for an explanation where-by he is told that his mother is held captive in order to guarantee his full cooperation. Under these circumstances; Harry must now devise ways to rescue his mother and save himself from being arrested by the police.
- Beena works as a stage actress and lives a poor lifestyle with her widowed mother. One day while returning home she is molested by Bankhe and two other men, but Rajan comes to her rescue. He escorts her home and soon both of them fall in love with each other. Rajan's dad, Rai Bahadur Gangasaran, is wealthy and does not approve of Beena at all. But when Rajan threatens to leave him, he changes his mind and permits them to get married. After the marriage they settle down to a harmonious life and soon Beena becomes pregnant. One night while driving, Rajan gets a flat tire, he leaves Beena in the car in order to get help. When he returns Beena has disappeared. She returns home the next day, and everyone is relieved to have her back. A few days later they get the news that Gopal, the Manager of the Theatre that Beena used to work with, has been arrested and charged with killing a man named Ratanlal. Gangasaran is on the jury and would like Gopal to get a fair trial. The police find out that a woman was present with Gopal at the night of the murder, but Gopal refuses to divulge her name. As a result of this refusal, he is found guilty. When the sentence is about to be passed, Beena suddenly appears in Court and testifies that she was with Gopal the night of the murder. Gopal is set free, but Beena is shunned by Rajan and Gangasaran and not only driven out of the house, but also from the town. The question does remain - what compelled Beena to spend the night with Gopal, and why was Gopal accused of killing Ratanlal?
- Raghu Shukla lives in a small town in India with his wife, Sarojini; two sons - Naresh and Ramesh, who are married to Sudha and Shobha respectively, and altogether have three children, an unmarried daughter, Seema, who is away studying in a hostel, and a nephew named Prabhu. When the time comes for Raghu to retire, his sons and daughter-in-laws are thrilled as he will get his retirement savings. But all are disappointed when Raghu pays off his debts instead and decides to live as a dependent on his sons. Naresh decides to move out to Bombay, and informs them that he can only take Sarojini with him, while Ramesh says his income can only accommodate Raghu. In this way, Raghu and Sarojini are separated. Sarojini re-locates to Bombay where she will eventually be treated as a maidservant, and live a life confined in the four walls, while Raghu will be dependent for all his needs on Ramesh and Shobha. When Seema comes for a visit, she witnesses her parents' plight and decides to take an extreme step to alleviate their sufferings - a step that will send shock waves to Ajay, her boyfriend, as well as the rest of the Shukla family.

- This is the story of two brothers and a father. The brothers are twins Arun Sharma, and Kewal Sharma (both played by Rishi Kapoor), and the father is Major Hemraj Sharma (Pran), a war veteran who became disabled in the last war, and has to rely on crutches to walk. The Major has a soft corner for Kewal, but shows open disapproval of Arun, thus alienating him. He constantly asks Arun to make sacrifices for Kewal, including giving up his love, Rekha (Zaheera). Heartbroken Arun leaves his father's home and meets an old acquaintance who he had saved from committing suicide, Jyoti (Neetu Singh). Jyoti gets Arun a job at her dad's (Pinchoo Kapoor) Diwan Pratap chand's hotel. Here Arun meets with a hotel waiter who tells him that his mother is still alive. Arun is shocked to note this and asks his mother to accompany him to confront his father. Was Arun's father really that cold-hearted to let go of his wife, and keep this secret from his sons?

Ashok himself sees Asha in her true colors when she sings and dances at a party, overly intoxicated.

Situations change Badal and he decides to reveal his true identity to the Singhs who also promises to re-unite the family with their son, Chimpoo.

A fall from a staircase makes Shanti Swaroop lose his eyesight, and makes him totally dependent on his wife, and a nurse, Kalpana (Rekha). Blinded and unable to see reason clearly, he refuses to let his daughter marry Ram (Sharad) as he is poor; and asks Ravi to leave his house, when Ravi speaks out against Heera and Maya, thus leaving the ground wide open for them to attempt to initially permanently blind him, and then blame the nurse for this negligence.
- Colonel Ranvir and ACP Jaideep joins forces to fight against Pakistani terrorists, who hijacks an Indian airplane and demands to free their militant leader in return.
- Virendra Singh lives wealthy lifestyle in Bommbay, India, along with his wife, Shalini, and son, Vikram. He gambles on Diwali, loses all his money, borrows a large amount from his friend, Gajendra Singh, ends up losing this too, and returns home along with Gajendra and his brother to try and repay as much as he can. When Gajendra's brother attempts to molest Shalini, Virendra's kills him and flees. He boards a bus which meets with an accident, leaving only two survivors - himself and a young heiress named Anju. He adopts her, looks after her estate and assumes a new name, Sardar Rajpal, and becomes wealthy over time. Years later Anju has grown up and finds out about her foster father's tragic story and decides to try and re-unite this family. She posts two advertisements in Bombay's newspapers, to hire an Estate Manager, as well as asking for the whereabouts of Shalini and Vikram. Little does she know that she has opened up a Pandora's box for the advertisements were read by none other than Gajendra and his son, Shakti, who are well aware that Virendra's wife and son had both perished in a fire that engulfed their residence on that very night - and now they are poised to re-enter Virendra's life - with Shakti re-naming himself Vikram with a view of marrying Anju, inheriting her wealth and then the duo plan to kill Virendra to avenge the death of their brother and uncle respectively.

- Suraj (Govinda) lives with is parents viz, dad (Aloknath), mom Savitri (Seema Deo), sister Pooja (Parijat), elder brother Amar, his sister-in-law, and a niece and nephew. Amar is employed in the persian gulf and sends some money so that the family can find a suitable groom for Pooja. When Suraj goes to deposit the money in the bank, some bankrobbers intercept him and take his money. Since the money was not deposited in the bank, the bank is unable to guarantee the amount. Suraj does not share this info with his family, so that they needn't worry. Suraj goes in search of the culprits and meets up with a petty thief and pick-pocket Bindiya (Farha). He feels sorry for her, and takes her home and introduces her to his family, and promises to marry her. His family accepts Bindiya. When the family hear of Amar passing away, they ask Suraj to get the money from the bank. How will Suraj get money from the bank, when there is no money in there? How will the knowledge that the money was stolen effect his family? Will Pooja ever get married?
- Wealthy and aristocratic Thakur Pratap Singh lives in a palatial mansion, and has a dream of building a dream house, similar to the Taj Mahal, with the help of his Architect brother. In order to do this, he must first get rid of the villagers, and take possession of their respective lands. He runs into problems when Mangal and a few handful of villagers refuse to part with their lands. Pratap Singh, his brother, and some of his goons get together and convive a deadly plan that will result in the death of Mangal and the villagers who are opposed to selling their lands. The plans is carried out, and Mangal is at first crippled, and finally brutally killed. Then Mangal's infant son is killed in his cradle, leaving his mother, Radha, alone and devastated to face life at the mercy of the cruel Thakur and his men. Pratap Singh dreams materialize when his brother finally arranges the construction of their dream house. But their dreams will soon turn to nightmares when they find out that Radha has joined a gang of dacoits, and is out to kill them - one by one. The Thakur, together with his wife and infant daughter, Mona, must now decide to re-locate or else face certain death.
- Honest and diligent Major Vijay Kumar Singh is called back from active duty to attend to the funeral of his mother. He declines as he has to be present on the front as well as inspire others. When he returns home, he grieves for his mother, and sets about finding a suitable groom for his unmarried sister. He finds out that Reshmi is in love with a male, and he goes to talk to this male's father. The father, Lala, agrees to the marriage, provided Vijay marries his mentally retarded daughter, Anandi. Vijay instantly refuses, but when he finds out that his sister is pregnant, he agrees to marry Anandi. Then circumstances force him to be a witness in two crimes - one an arson set deliberately, and the other about a drunk driver who crushes some people asleep on a city footpath. In both the cases, the Judge dismisses the matters. Confused and hurt by a system that is unable to punish the guilty, he ponders on what is going to happen to his country. Then he comes to know that his mother did not die but was murdered and he sets out to find the person(s) responsible for this. Vijay does not trust the police now, and knows that they will let the guilty go unpunished, and sets out to hunt them down one by one - until he comes across the male who actually killed his mother - none other than a holy man named Swami Kashinath Singh - a man who claims to be his biological father, and a man who claims that killing his wife was a mistake. What will Vijay next action be? Will he be objective enough to punish his father for this heinous crime, or will emotion overwhelm him from making any decision.
- Jaidev Anand is a celebrity, and lives a fairly isolated life. One day he comes to the rescue of a young woman, Vandana Acharya, and falls in love with her. Vandana respects him, but falls in love with another man, Abhimanyu. This news shatters Jaidev, but he decides not to tell Vandana anything. Then the jeep in which Abhimanyu and Vandana were traveling is attacked by an assailant named D.K., and as a result Abhimanyu gets killed. Jaidev is sorry for Vandana, but gets his hopes up enough to propose to her, and to his joy, she accepts. The plans are on for an early marriage, but before that could happen Vandana meets a single mother, Gayetri, and her son. It is then she finds out that Jaidev is already married, and also has a son. What possible reason could Jaidev have for not sharing this information with Vandana?
- On the night of his marriage to Asha (Asha Parekh), Anand (Sunil Dutt) is arrested for allegedly murdering his business partner, and held in prison until his trial takes place. Anand refuses to say anything in his favor, thus leading his lawyer to conclude that Anand did commit this homicide. Refusing to believe that their brother could murder, his brothers, Amar and Pawan (Rakesh Roshan and Tariq respectively) kidnap Judge Ganguly's (Iftekhar) only daughter, Nisha (Reena Roy), in order to force the judge to find Anand not guilty, with disasterous results.
- Amidst religious riots, a son deals with his mother's life-threatening injuries, and her last request.
- After being critically wounded and losing his left arm, Captain Jaswant Kumar is discharged from the Indian army and goes to live with Journalist A.V. Razdan in Shanti Nagar, Bombay. Ironically, Shanti Nagar is far from peaceful as it is ruled by extortionists like Peter Gonsalves and Jaichand Khurana who work for underworld don, Taneja. Jaswant and a local taxi-driver, Raju Varma, decide to put up a fight and attempt to drive the goons away - with considerable success much to the chagrin of Taneja, who hires a killer named Raaka to do away with them. Instead they end up befriending Raaka and join forces against Taneja himself. But Jaswant and Raju will soon find out that Raaka never befriends anyone and always disposes off his enemies when they end up getting arrested for smuggling and are sentenced to two years in prison - leaving Taneja and his men to carry on with their nefarious activities.
- Lifelong platonic friends Zack and Miri look to solve their respective cash-flow problems by making an adult film together. As the cameras roll, however, the duo begin to sense that they may have more feelings for each other than they previously thought.
- Ratan Kumar lives a middle-class existence with his wife, Pushpa and son, Sunder. When he is asked to commit a crime for Balram Singh, he does so, but decides to keep a suitcase full of diamonds for himself. An enraged Balram sets fire to his house. Believing his wife to be dead, Ratan flees, is rescued by Dr. Saigal, taken to the palace of a distraught Maharani Maanwati, who has just lost her son and husband, but is placated after being told that Sunder is her son. For years, Ratan, who now calls himself Ramesh, works for the Maharani, and when Sunder grows up, the Maharani comes to know of Ramesh's existence, finds that he closely resembles her husband, and marries him. Shortly thereafter, Pushpa re-surfaces, an enraged Maharani attempts to kill Ramesh, but ends up killing herself, before dying she asks Sunder to avenge her death. Fleeing from Sunder and the Police's wrath, Ramesh is apprehended by the Police, tried in Court, and sentenced to several years in jail. When he returns, he becomes an underworld don, with a sole motive of bringing an end to Balram, little knowing that Sunder, who now calls himself Shyam, is also on the lookout for him, and has befriended Ravi, Ramesh's second son, who was born during his tenure in prison. When Balram finds this out, he plots to use Shyam to bring an end to Ramesh and his entire family - once and for all.

Ravi is prone to losing his temper, so much so that he gets out of control, and has killed someone in his childhood. When Kaamna gets raped, the family are reluctant to tell Ravi. When they do they do convince him to control himself, while Mohan gets an arrest warrant for Vinod, Kaamna's molester. Things do not go smoothly in court as the matter is put off for several months and then Somnath and Kaamna are killed in a bomb explosion. Now Mohan and Vikram handcuff Ravi on their balcony while they finalize the funeral arrangements, and when they return Ravi is no longer there. And then the killings begin...

Shortly thereafter a son, Vikramdev, is born to Meenakshi, and Nandini plots with a sorcerer, Mahendra, who turns Suryadev and Meenakshi into a pearl necklace, and a beggar respectively, while he takes on the guise of Suryadev himself, declares that Vikramdev and Meenakshi are dead, weds Nandini, and subsequently announces that they are parents of a daughter, Pallavi, who is actually his biological daughter from a previous marriage. Years later, Vikramdev surfaces, he was raised by elephants in the jungles, rescues Pallavi, who teaches him to read, speak, and write, both fall in love and get married. Then Vikramdev sets out to search for his biological parents, finds his mother, takes back his kingdom by exposing Mahendra and Nandini, while Nandini is killed, Mahendra is imprisoned. Then he and Pallavi set out to find a way to bring back Suryadev to life - not realizing that both their lives will be shattered when Vikramdev will age instantly and Pallavi will turn into stone.

He travels to Bombay with a first class train ticket, and meets two fellows passengers, Paresh and Sunita. Although Paresh is Sunita's guardian, both are having an illicit affair. Anirudh finds Sunita very attractive, but she shuns him. Upon arrival in Bombay, Anirudh saves the life of a child during a riot, but is mistakenly arrested by the police, and lodged in a cell. After he is released, he goes to meet his mentor, Mohan, his wife, and daughter, Deepti, who have been paying for his treatment. Anirudh does not know that Mohan's motive for helping him was to take over ancestral property, and if necessary, get his daughter to marry him. Anirudh meets Sunita again, and this time she asks him to accompany him. She is now attracted to him and his charming childlike behavior. This angers her lovers, Mohan, and Ranjan, who want Anirudh out of the way by hook or by crook. Circumatances are building up against Anirudh, and he may possibly end up in a catatonic state as he was 25 years before.
