- Rex is called in when a famous painting "The Lenore" is stolen from a local art gallery. His expertise and cunning are required when a mysterious woman approaches the gallery with an offer to return the painting.
- Rex Randolph is hired by a jeweler named Raoul Roulas, to fly to the South American country of San Marco and bring back the murderer of his son. Mr. Roulas believes a swindler named Duke Powell killed his son, stole some jewelry, and fled to San Marco where he bought a gambling nightclub. Mr. Roulas' daughter, Amanda, followed Duke to San Marco to get revenge for killing her brother, and takes a job incognito singing in Duke's nightclub until she can get her revenge. Mr. Roulas also wants Rex to bring Amanda home safe and sound . Upon his arrival in San Marco, Rex discovers the facts of the case are quite different.
- Musicians and performers in New Orleans are being strong-armed by a shady "talent agency" that wants 10% of every performer's income, or else. When the Baron is attacked, Rex and Cal step in.
- A man injured in a hit and run accident staggers into Rex and Cal's office. He appears to be suffering from amnesia, but even after people come forward to identify him, some still have doubts.

Rex and Jan need to find Brad as Hurricane Teresa is bearing down on Louisiana -- and moving up the Mississippi River and heading toward Mara's island.

- A shady real estate developer is trying to strong-arm property owners into selling their land, and Kenny is hired to intercede - by a young woman who has been dead for twenty years.

Bogart wants to be in on one great headline grabbing arrest before his retirement and he is convinced Lucas can lead him to Taylor Ferguson...a bar owner who's cheating the IRS. At least that's the story he tells Calhoun.
