Meanwhile, Peter talks to Ian and discovers the real reason that he didn't want Cindy to return to the Square. Elsewhere, Sharon and Phil are both shocked to see Ian back in Walford.
- As chaos ensues, the grave situation for those on board the boat grows worse. Back in Albert Square, the drama continues.

They discuss tactics and Suki receives a call that could change everything. Meanwhile, a newly-released Lauren arrives back on the Square and looks forward to being reunited with Louie. Peter convinces Lauren to stay for longer than she'd planned, but she changes her mind when she finds out that Peter knew Penny's secret and didn't tell her. Linda worries that Lauren will find out the truth about Annie's paternity. Whitney promises to keep quiet, but just as Lauren is about to leave in a taxi with Louie, Sonia approaches and tells her that she has another sister in Walford. Elsewhere, Amy questions Denise's commitment to the Branning family. Lily struggles with the adjustment of being back at school and having less time with Charli.
- The Slaters' New Year Eve's party ends abruptly as disaster strikes leading to Stacey discovering a shocking revelation about Lily.
- Kathy and Alex agree to remain as friends and have no regrets about their one night stand.

Lofty borrows a motorbike to teach Michelle how to ride, but Den tells her she can't do it while she's pregnant. Angie still thinks the golf clubs she found are for her and talks to Debbie about how to thank Den for the present. After the break-ins, Tony changes the locks on the launderette door. Dr. Legg accuses Nick of the break-ins. Wicksy (Simon Wicks) takes a job at the Queen Vic and Sharon starts flirting with him. Nick blackmails Kathy about her adoption and teenage pregnancy.

Later, after meeting Charli for the first time, Sam asks Phil for a place to stay so that she can be close to her family. Elsewhere, Linda struggles with the impact of the past few days. Mitch organises a surprise party for Karen and convinces Sharon to attend with Keanu.

Meanwhile, Kathy refuses to report Rocky to the police. Instead, she confronts Nish for putting so much pressure on Rocky. Nish makes a nasty attack on Bernadette when she gets caught in the middle, while Keanu also gets involved in the fight. Elsewhere, Sonia and Reiss prepare to take the next step in their IVF journey.
- Dean puts pressure on Gina to go public with their relationship, but she refuses. Without knowing who Dean is dating, Ian advises him to prove he's in the relationship for the long haul. Later, Dean decides on a grand gesture and arrives at The Vic with a bunch of flowers. Linda and the Knight family are horrified as Dean declares his love for Gina. Meanwhile, Nish offers Kat a flat that's rent-free for the time being following her split from Phil. Phil tries to pay for Kat's drink at The Vic, but Nish infuriates him by telling him to leave Kat alone. Later, Nish asks Kat out on a date, but she tells him that it's too soon and turns him down. Elsewhere, Cindy is unimpressed when she realises that Anna and Bobby have spent the night together. Anna forces her to realise that it's time to accept the relationship. Howie is offered a three-month job on a cruise ship, while Martin flies to Australia to join Sharon in supporting Michelle.

Meanwhile, Jack buys Christmas presents for Stacey's children after she mentions her lack of funds. Elsewhere, Gina tells Dean that she believes him over Linda. Also today, Sonia and Reiss learn that their egg retrieval process was a success.

- Naima has her first driving lesson. Den and Angie promise Sharon things are going to change. Lofty's well meaning gesture is not welcomed by Mary. Den and Angie seem to have put the spark back into their marriage.
- Lou wakes up screaming. Den is disappointed with himself. Dr Legg shares some deep concerns about Pauline with Arthur. Michelle gets a new look. Tony warns Michelle off Kelvin, meanwhile Sharon moves in for the kill.

Sheena and Mary rehearse Mary's strip routine but Mary feels embarrassed. Pete thinks the takings from the stall are low - it's because Nick has blackmailed Kathy. Debbie wants to turn Saeed's shop into a convenience store and starts measuring the place up, but Andy just laughs at the idea. Den calls Angie to say he'll be late back - later she attacks Wicksy thinking it's Den, but then flirts with him.
