- During 19th century in All Souls' Day, some people from a small town gather in a local church. With their leader named Guslarz, they summon ghosts. They want to free the spirits from purgatory and help them go to heaven. It's basically a Polish version of Halloween, but more insane and illegal.

- The main hero is a historical personage Witold Pilecki, a cavalry Captain, who voluntarily entered German Concentration Camp Auschwitz, organized resistance there and a channel of communication to pass information, as well as escaped from the camp, went abroad to convey the information about concentration camp to the alliance forces and came back to Polish People's Republic where he was imprisoned and appallingly tortured. The teleplay is focused on the excessive brutality of enquiries against him and on the trial during which he was falsely accused as well as on his indomitableness and perseverance.
