In September 1985, the Herrera family's economic progress is marked by a new phone. A visit from Juan's estranged father stirs memories and tensions. Relationships evolve amidst celebrations, secrets, and emotional upheavals.

Juan Herrera prepares his things to travel to Chillán to visit his father who is very ill. Felix hands him a letter for his grandfather. In Santiago, Gabriel says goodbye to Claudia in the hotel room, he tells her that he will go away for four months after suspecting that they discovered her participation in the Manuel Rodriguez Patriotic Front (FPMR). Gabriel is followed by CNI agents and a confrontation ensues. The entire Herrera family, with the exception of Juan, spend Christmas night at home. Juan is accompanying his father who is in the last moments of his life and asks him to read the letter from his grandson, that is when the outcome of this story occurs with the death of Pedro.

In Mar '84, Gabriel recovers at Claudia's, but differing anti-dictatorship paths create conflict. Ana's pregnancy risks bed rest. Félix and Bruno aid Mrs. Imelda. Juan's financial woes lead to important decisions.

April 1986: In Argentina, Juan visits his daughter Claudia. After Claudia's partner Gabriel is attacked, their safety is jeopardized. Claudia sends greetings and presents, but Ana remains resentful and rejects them.

May 1983: The first nationwide protest against Pinochet occurs. Claudia joins and gets arrested. Félix, a new school patrol leader, gets tangled up by taking his uniform to show Ana, who was at the police station to free Claudia.

Ana's mother arrives at the Herrera house after knowing that Ana is pregnant. Juan confronts his unfriendly new boss at the shop which keeps him upset and creates a tense atmosphere at home and makes Ana thinks that the new coming baby is making him upset. Juan will make an important decision.

March 1984: curfew returns. Claudia is evicted by her father. Félix and Bruno break a window at Mrs. Imelda's house. Juan seeks Claudia despite the curfew and encounters patrols. Gabriel's late arrival unveils secrets.

In May '84, Juan ends business, and Martín contemplates the future. Gabriel bids Claudia farewell before going underground. Ana and Juan have a question for Nancy and Exequiel. Baby's premature birth unites Herreras amid struggles.

The episode takes place during the overflow of the Mapocho River. Felix makes a homeless friend; Ana discovers that Claudia's boyfriend bought a condom; and the Juan Herrera factory closes.

In October 1985, amidst Caszely's farewell, Juan surprises Félix with tickets. Roberto deepens ties with Bruno, raising concerns. Ana's decisions spark tensions with Juan, and emotions run high as she questions her role as a modern woman.

After a brutal attack, Ana and Juan stand by Martín. Facing career-ending injuries, he must choose between parental expectations and personal happiness. A heartfelt Christmas brings clarity as Juan offers unwavering support.

In April 1986, the Herrera family copes with Claudia's escape from Chile. Juan seeks her in Argentina, straining his marriage. Business thrives, and Juan entrusts his son Martín-with a tale of courage, loyalty, and family.

December 1982. Juan's father's return stirs family emotions-especially young Félix, who is puzzled by Juan's behaviour. Félix, Martín, and their grandfather send a telegram to Santa Claus after a dispute with Bruno about his existence.

Martín flies solo for the first time, Ana deals with unexpected news, Juan is puzzled at a mysterious guest at the store, and Félix is forced to invite only eight guests to his birthday party.

In March/April 1985, the Herrera family hires a maid while dealing with personal and societal changes. Claudia attends the funeral of the Degollados Case. Ana tries to balance her role as a mother and wife with her new job.

November 1983. Juan hires Exequiel for the store, facing paperwork hassle. Ana helps the family, and Claudia hires Gabriel for biology. Martin excels but gets attacked by a date's ex-boyfriend. Love deepens between Nancy and Exequiel.

March 1985. By chance, Martin comes to a toccata of a budding young band from San Miguel called Los Prisioneros. In his letters will find the inspiration he sought. Back to school is not easy, the rumors say that because the school landslides Felix will be mixed to help girls whose school was devastated by the earthquake. Felix, Bruno and his classmates do not like the idea, try to prevent invasion by any female. Following the success of sales achieved in the Home Fair, Ana and her friend Nancy, you get an incredible job opportunity, to be selling at an appliance store, but this is not very happy with Juan, which fails to understand how it is possible that leaves little Anita and her family behind.

In March 1985, Juan starts a thrift clothing business, improving the Herrera family's finances. A major earthquake hits, damaging their home and Ana's parents' house. The country comes together in solidarity with the earthquake victims.
