- In September 1985, the Herrera family's economic progress is marked by a new phone. A visit from Juan's estranged father stirs memories and tensions. Relationships evolve amidst celebrations, secrets, and emotional upheavals.
- Juan Herrera prepares his things to travel to Chillán to visit his father who is very ill. Felix hands him a letter for his grandfather. In Santiago, Gabriel says goodbye to Claudia in the hotel room, he tells her that he will go away for four months after suspecting that they discovered her participation in the Manuel Rodriguez Patriotic Front (FPMR). Gabriel is followed by CNI agents and a confrontation ensues. The entire Herrera family, with the exception of Juan, spend Christmas night at home. Juan is accompanying his father who is in the last moments of his life and asks him to read the letter from his grandson, that is when the outcome of this story occurs with the death of Pedro.
- In Mar '84, Gabriel recovers at Claudia's, but differing anti-dictatorship paths create conflict. Ana's pregnancy risks bed rest. Félix and Bruno aid Mrs. Imelda. Juan's financial woes lead to important decisions.
- April 1986: In Argentina, Juan visits his daughter Claudia. After Claudia's partner Gabriel is attacked, their safety is jeopardized. Claudia sends greetings and presents, but Ana remains resentful and rejects them.
- May 1983: The first nationwide protest against Pinochet occurs. Claudia joins and gets arrested. Félix, a new school patrol leader, gets tangled up by taking his uniform to show Ana, who was at the police station to free Claudia.

Back to school is not easy, the rumors say that because the school landslides Felix will be mixed to help girls whose school was devastated by the earthquake. Felix, Bruno and his classmates do not like the idea, try to prevent invasion by any female. Following the success of sales achieved in the Home Fair, Ana and her friend Nancy, you get an incredible job opportunity, to be selling at an appliance store, but this is not very happy with Juan, which fails to understand how it is possible that leaves little Anita and her family behind.
- In March 1985, Juan starts a thrift clothing business, improving the Herrera family's finances. A major earthquake hits, damaging their home and Ana's parents' house. The country comes together in solidarity with the earthquake victims.
