- It's a new day for the Greenleaf family. AJ is out of trouble. Jacob and Kerissa struggle with their marriage. A surprise ending brings the entire family together.
- Grace informs her father, the Bishop, about Mac's crimes, and imputes that her sister, Faith, was a similar victim. This shatters the Bishop. Isabel suspects Noah and cancels her wedding. Charity suspects her husband Kevin of infidelity.
- Grace gets evidence of Mac's sexual deviance. Her old love for Noah resurfaces. Noah decides to quit the church after his marriage. The Bishop scorns an offer to preach on TV. An exonerated black policeman is shot at outside their church.
- Mac squeals when the Bishop refuses to give him a favorable mention at his sentencing. Grace preaches on Sunday. The Bishop reveals to Grace that he has Alzheimer's. Kevin speaks about the inner conflicts regarding his sexual leanings.
- Despite the success of Lady Mae's big day, she is denied the right to run Calvary despite support from the Bishop. Grace assumes control thanks to Connie and joins Harmony and Hope Ministries.
- It's all out war between the Greenleafs against H&H. Grace tries to stop the demolition of the church. Lady Mae negotiates for the mansion but Bishop has a revelation after learning the original owner.
- AJ cannot fit into this superficial world, and walks out on his mother. Kerissa's frustrations overflow and she quarrels with Mama. Jacob suddenly finds that he cannot yet buy a new house. Charity has cold feet about spying on her family.
- Grace is threatened that her false alibi for AJ will be leaked if she does not resign the church. Connie is threatened that the bribe which she received will be leaked if H&H gets half of the board seats. Dante donates to Kerissa's school.
- Jacob being benched, Grace takes the pulpit. A new sexual violence help group is started. Jacob's love for his wife is rekindled when they are invited to a partner swapping party. An openly gay Choir Director replaces a closeted one.
- Deacon Sykes discusses women's day with Lady Mae and wants Grace to preach; Mavis has problems with her club; Grace, Ray, and Sophia attend a custody hearing; Charity and Kevin talk about his feelings.
- Zora is 18 now and firm about going away. Sophia will not go to college, once she is 18. Coralie meets her 2 kids who are in foster care. She declines to take the DA's deal. Tasha leaves. Charity declines to take over the funeral home.
- After Mae's beautiful sermon at "A Day with Lady Mae", Bishop fears he may lose Calvary. Grace gets a paternity test with Aaron. Jacob and Grace work to clear the family name.
- Grace flies to Phoenix to face her past but in doing so, gives Phil the opportunity to impress key church leadership. Lady Mae steps in to do damage control in Grace's absence and is forced to face Mac's ghost and her own stained reputation. Despite Jacob's protests, Kerissa moves forward on finding a buyer for the Real Church land, insisting that Jacob either get on her team or she'll move out without him.
- Grace becomes pastor while all other family members are out. She succeeds in getting Jacob a pastor's position, but not for Charity. Angered, Charity agrees with Phil to spy on the family, for a promise to become a pastor at the church.
- Sophia and Grace learn that AJ actually burgled. Grace learns that Fernando of H&H has bought all the land around their church. Kerissa continues seeing Fernando. Charity has been seen kissing Phil. Grace feels overwhelmed by the 'enemy'.
- Mac had not done anything wrong, the Bishop believes. Jacob is benched due to an affair, and Grace is asked to step up. Connie refuses to return as Chairman of the Deacon Board, having disagreed over the Bishop's plan to get a new plane.
- Bishop shoots Mac in the upper arm. Grace is eased out of the Deacon Board for having called the police. Mac is arrested for his past deviancy, while in hospital. Mae is unforgiving of Mac. Charity kicks her husband out from the bedroom.
- Refusing to reinstate Jacob as a preacher, the Bishop advises him to follow his life's calling. Jacob applies for a pastor's job at a rival church. Grace gets a custody notice for her daughter. Charity remains cold towards her husband.
- The Bishop gets the divorce paper, He convinces Sophia to come back to church and Grace's distrust of Rochelle deepens.
- Judee of H&H wants half the seats on the deacon board. She offers Grace the pulpit, if she can get the votes from the deacon's board in favor of H&H. Kerissa finds James' safe empty. Charity decides to reveal Grace's false alibi for AJ.
- Grace gives a false alibi for AJ on a burglary arrest, but the police are unconvinced. AJ is zapped with Mama's questioning and scoots. Charity gives proof of Grace's false alibi to Phil. Kerissa has a fling with the buyer of their land.
- Grace leaves the church. Phil regains the church after ousting Mama. He agrees to marry Judee and dump Charity. AJ returns to confess to the police. Kerissa gets a-hold of a devastating document. She gets Chlamydia, making Jacob furious.
- The Bishop is furious when the auditors demand the Bishop's personal tax returns. Mac, the new Memphis Man of the Year, is told to fix this. Mac's repugnant father, firmly unwelcome at the church, visits his son to wangle some money.
- The Greenleaf family struggle in the aftermath of Mac's release; Lady Mae makes a last-ditch attempt to save the Bishop; Basie's announcement opens a rift between the Bishop and Jacob.
- It's the anniversary of Faith's suicide and Grace isn't ready to give up her pursuit of charges against Mac. There's bad news about Triumph Two's finances.
