- Red Dot on the Ocean is the story of Matt Rutherford, a severely troubled youth, who became a sailing legend. Departing Annapolis, MD in a scrappy old 27-foot fiberglass sloop without fanfare, 30-year-old Rutherford braved the icebergs of the arctic and mountainous waves of Cape Horn to become the only person to ever sail single-handed, non-stop around the Americas; a 27,000 mile journey many professional sailors declared "a suicide mission." As a youngster, Matt's ADHD and tics made life at home and at school near-impossible. At age 13 he was in drug rehab and he spent his remaining teen years more on the streets than in school. Then, at age 17, locked up in a cell, he had an epiphany and decided to turn his life around. Matt attended and excelled at a special high school for troubled youth where he developed a desire to explore the world. After graduating, he bought his first sailboat - sight unseen on the Internet. Over the next few years he bought boats on the cheap, fixed them up, and learned to sail on the fly. In 2008, Matt embarked on a single-handed voyage from the USA to Europe, West Africa and back across the Atlantic to the Caribbean. He'd found his calling. In 2011, Matt took on his biggest challenge: a solo, nonstop circumnavigation of the Americas. He did it for himself, and to raise money for disabled sailors. After 309 days at sea, Matt achieved his goal and sailed into Annapolis to a hero's welcome. Matt's story is told through his own words and interviews with his family, sailing experts, and others. We use family photos and video of his childhood; Matt's own footage of his early sailing days; and video, audio logs, and stills from his historic around the Americas voyage. To this we add additional ocean footage; archival visuals of earlier explorers Matt admires; and re-enactments from Matt's troubled past. Matt Rutherford's story is full of surprises. It is truly inspiring and makes us all feel we can do more than we ever imagined.

- "I, a Negro" depicts young Nigerien immigrants who left their country to find work in the Ivory Coast, in the Treichville quarter of Abidjan, the capital. These immigrants live in squalor in Treichville, envious of the bordering quarters of The Plateau (the business and industrial district) and the old African quarter of Adjame. The film traces a week in these immigrants' lives, blurring the line between their characters' routines and their own. Every morning, Tarzan, Eddy Constantine and Edward G. Robinson seek work in Treichville in hopes of getting the 20 francs that a bowl of soup costs them. They perform menial jobs as dockers carrying sacks and handy labor shipping supplies to Europe. At night, they drink away their sorrows in bars while dreaming about their idealized lives as their "movie" alter-egos, alternatively as an FBI Agent, a womanizing bachelor, a successful boxer, and even able to stand up to the white colonialists that seduce away their women. These dream-like sequences are shot in a poetic mode. Each day is introduced by an interstitial voice of god omniscient narration from Jean Rouch, providing a universal thematic distance to the movie's events. The film is book-ended by a narration directed at both Petit Jules and the audience from Edward G. Robinson fondly looking back on his childhood in Niger and concluding that his life is worthy of his dreams.

That means paddling a marathon a day for 93 days across an ocean. No days off. Out on the barren expanse of one of the world's greatest oceans, there are no rescue boats. No coast guard on call. But Bertish's mantra is that nothing is impossible and his mission is to use his unusual skill set to raise money for Africa's impoverished children. Putting his life and relationships on the line, Bertish sets out from Morocco with 95 days worth of food and a solar-powered desalinator to turn seawater into drinking water. He also takes with him three cameras as a "black box recording system" should anything go wrong and he doesn't survive. The Scythia is an ocean liner that was converted to a troop transport during World War II; in 1940 it carried children from Liverpool to New York as part of an evacuation program set up by the Children's Overseas Reception Board. The present voyage is among the first to carry civilian passengers from North America to the British Isles following the end of the war. Among the passengers are 150 child evacuees, who have spent several years growing up in Canada or the USA. Narrator FitzPatrick can be seen on the deck of the ship conversing with a female passenger. At Liverpool the evacuee children disembark, and FitzPatrick and his party change ships for the voyage across the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland's capital city. We arrive at the port of Belfast, one of the busiest in the British Isles. We then see the city hall, the downtown area, the city's botanical garden, and the parliament building outside the city proper. Fortuitously, three members of the British royal family make a "victory visit" to Belfast to thank the people of the city for their efforts during the war. The last four minutes of this travelogue document activities of King George VI, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother (then Queen Elizabeth), and Queen Elizabeth II (then Princess Elizabeth) during their stay.
- This is the 10th CBS Copperfield TV special, introduced by the host Lisa Hartman and then presented by David Copperfield himself, from a huge triangular platform floating on the Atlantic Ocean. For the first time he is also the executive producer, and this special is the first and only one titled with a natural number ("10") in place of the equivalent roman one ("X"). The shown platform has been built to allow Copperfield to perform the last illusion, named "Bermuda Triangle", as expressed in this special's title. The feat that Copperfield wants to perform is to enter just before the dawn in the parallel hidden dimension present inside the Bermuda Triangle and, more important, to be the first person ever to return alive, given that nothing that entered in this parallel dimension has ever been able to come back. This illusion is one of the few no more repeated, and also one of the few conceived and filmed for the TV audience only, since it was not possible to have a live audience. So, the illusions performed are: "Death Saw", "Sailing Montage" (a montage of three illusions, known as "Sunglasses Routine", "Floating On The Beach" and "Coal To Diamond"), "Run Duck Run", "Poultry In Motion" (aka "Webster And Consuelo"), "Floating Match", "Poultry In Motion Reversed" (aka "Webster And Consuelo Restored" and "Baby Ducks") and then "Bermuda Triangle". During his own career Copperfield has performed several escapes, and "Death Saw", filmed in long take, is one of the few conceived to go wrong in order to increase suspense. In fact, before performing it, Copperfield himself tells the audience: «I'm going to be attempting an escape. That's true. But I guarantee you it's an escape like... you have never seen before», and the execution proves this to be true: because of a damage to the motor of the saw, the latter drops on Copperfield before the expiration of the 60 seconds allowed to save himself, so he remains sawed in half in full view, without any cover. After the separation of the two parts of his body, he is still able to move his feet.
