What a great adventure movie! I saw this in the Brussels Cinematek, where the only copy of this film is still kept (with Dutch and French intertitles, but in good quality!).
The film consists of 15 chapters of +/- 20 minutes and lasts 5 hours. A lot happens during that time. Between the beautiful landscapes of Alaska there is frequent fighting for love, gold and a gold mine. Some action scenes were very impressive, especially when you consider that the film is from 1922: clambering in trees, sliding off icebergs, diving off rocks, escaping from fires, ...
A truly forgotten gem, which is marked as "presumed lost" on some websites, but which fortunately still exists and is even shown (in the Brussels Cinematek with live pianomusic). A film that absolutely should be restored and released on DVD. This film serial is more captivating, more beautiful and more action-packed than most series that are made today.
