For an independent film, production values are actually quite good in this Grapevine Video DVD release of the full 73 minutes version. The lovely star, Zena Keefe, has a double role and so does Dore Davidson; but while Zena plays both wronged mother and beautiful daughter, Davidson skillfully enacts both ghetto neighborhood pawnbroker and patiently revengeful Wall Street financier. Anders Randolf on the other hand, makes his mark as the villain, while matinée idol Maurice Costello plays the rich man's son who falls in love with Zena. Director Burton L. King keeps the routine plot moving along at a welcome pace, and although hampered at times by a wobbly process background screen, embellishes his many neighborhood locales with plenty of atmosphere and color.
