Sally Winton ( Betty Bronson ) supports her crippled father working as a seamstress for a fashionable dressmaker. The young girl adores her little kitten, Tommy. Taxi driver Jack ( Gordon Griffith ) loves Sally, but she is smitten with opera star, Don Cesare Gracco ( Ricardo Cortez ). Sally attends an opera performance, her kitten Tommy having hidden in her coat, now escapes from the cloakroom and wanders backstage. To his amusement, Don Cesare tells reporters he will marry the first woman the kitten leads him to. Tommy runs to Riza Dorina ( Arlette Marchal ) a moody dancer. The kitten becomes a news item, and is given a diamond necklace for having led Cesare to his love. Begrudging her fiancé's publicity, Riza spitefully postpones the wedding, refusing to even try on her wedding dress. Sally is then asked to model the dress and when Cesare proposes to her, she accepts. Soon after the marriage, Sally declares she only wanted to teach him a lesson and leaves him, however, following a series of complications, Sally and Cesare are happily reunited.

The Cat's Pajamas was directed by William A. Wellman and starred Betty Bronson. Produced by the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation, sadly this silent comedy is now a lost film.
