When the police in a German city are unable to catch a child-murderer, other criminals join in the manhunt.
It was common practice at the time for foreign-language films to be concurrently shot in English, for the British and North American markets. Fritz Lang had nothing to do with the English-language version of his film.

When captured Hans Beckert is confronted with the blind man and his balloon, he stumbles backwards to a mere step away from the table, but in the following opposing shots he is notably further away from -- and able to make several steps toward -- it.
