"Bosko the Lumberjack" is a better than normal Bosko cartoon, though if you think about the plot, it's pretty unsavory. Think about it....a lecherous character kidnaps Honey and plans on forcing himself on her! This is typical of most of the Popeye cartoons as well....and it's interesting that attempted sexual assault was so often the theme of these shorts. Now I am not saying this to be politically correct....but it is odd that the theme comes up so often and we just don't think about it.
Unlike most Bosko shorts, this one is NOT filled with insipid singing and dancing...which is a major plus. While I didn't love this film, it's well animated and entertaining...and lacks the saccharine you'll find in a majority of these shorts. Worth seeing.
By the way, like at least half these Bosko films, there are characters who are the spitting image of Mickey Mouse.
