Stan and Ollie do battle with inanimate objects, their co-workers, and the laws of physics during a routine work day at the sawmill.
One of four Laurel & Hardy shorts directed by Lloyd French, and acknowledged as one of the team's best. French was a journeyman director who had done earlier uncredited work with L&H Pack Up Your Troubles (1932), and went on to create musical and comedy shorts for Warner Bros. and RKO through the early 1940s.
Would you mind opening the window?
Ollie: Not THAT window - THIS window!
Ollie: What are you doing?
Stan: Well, I was looking at the blueprint to try to figure out how to open the window.
Ollie: Why, that's a blueprint of the BOULDER DAM!
As the Boys go into their work area, Ollie walks into a plank that's being carried, then they both walk into one. In the background there's a pile of timber which in the long shot when the Boys are on their feet, is just a jumble, but when they're sitting down, it's a tidy pile.
