Ken Maynard had his own production company at Universal, a major studio, and disliked Mascot's low-budget production methods. Although originally slated for a four-week shooting schedule, production ran an extra week and $15,000 over its $65,000 budget. Although it brought in almost $1 million, Maynard and the budget-conscious Nat Levine of Mascot parted company.
Chapter six: Ken is all tied up, Tarzan frees him, he rides to save Lake's wagon train and has no guns. Later shot he has both HIS guns.
