A tyrannical ship captain decides to exact revenge on his abused crew after they form a mutiny against him, but the sailor he targets had no hand in it.
Whenever Charles Laughton wasn't happy with his work in a shot, he would do something to ruin the take, a habit that drove many of his directors mad. At the end of a lengthy shot of Bligh pacing the deck of the Bounty, filmed on the studio mock-up of the ship, Lloyd was about to yell "Cut! Print!" when Laughton stopped and said, "I wasn't in any of my marks!" In this case, the crew thought it was hilarious.
Lt. Fletcher Christian:
Bligh, you've given your last command on this ship! We'll be men again if we hang for it!
In the movie, milk is shown being inside coconuts. In real life, inside coconuts there is coconut water, whereas coconut milk is produced by crushing the coconut's shell.
