With the help of a relative, a hopeless railway employee is made stationmaster of Buggleskelly. Determined to make his mark, he devises a number of schemes to put Buggleskelly on the railway map, but instead falls foul of a gang of gun runners.
The actor playing the Minister of Public Communications and the actress playing his wife are both swept over the edge of the platform by the torrent of water release by Will Hay at 03:04 into the film, presumably onto the rails in front of the engine. Wilson Coleman appeared in subsequent films so the injuries could not have critical, however there is no mention of the actress.
