Unable to enforce the law in Tombstone, Arizona because the sheriff and the justice-of-the-peace are in league with Bull (Harry Woods) and his bandit gang, banker Tom Weldon (Ed Cassidy) has sent for his friend Whit Gordon (Bill Elliott), who has cleaned up Dodge City, Kansas. Whit arrives as Bull's gang is holding up a stagecoach which has Alice Weldon (Dorothy Gulliver), as a passenger. Whit and his two pals, Art (Art Davis) and Kaintuck (Charles King), save the valuable express pouch and rescues Alice. In town, Whit is deputized as assistant marshal and, recognizing Bull and his gang, accuses them of killing the stagecoach driver (Tex Palmer). When Sheriff Wilson (Slim Whitaker) and Judge Brown (Bud Osborne) refuse to intervene, Whit order the bandits to "hit the trail and never come back." Bull and his gang, in defiance of Whit's orders, shoot up Tombstone and kill honest Marshal Jeff (Jack Ingram). Whit and his two pals, after a terrific battle, jail Bull and his henchmen. Judge Brown releases Bull and his henchmen and Sheriff Wilson tells Bull and his gang to terrify Tomstone citizens away from the polls and voting for statehood of the Arizona territory.
