A group of vaudevillians struggling to compete with talkies hits the road hoping for a comeback. Frustrated to be left behind, all of their kids put on a show themselves to raise money for the families and to prove they've got talent, too.
The Broadway musical production of "Babes in Arms" opened at the Shubert Theater in New York on April 14, 1937 and ran for 289 performances. It had a large cast that included Mitzi Green, Dan Dailey, Alfred Drake, Ray McDonald, and The Nicholas Brothers. Its plot was different, and had almost completely different musical numbers.

But when it cuts to a close up of Mickey with the kids; the kids are now resting on their elbows and the hat has changed location.
