While on vacation in Paris, France, Stan helps Ollie heal his broken heart after falling in love with the wrong woman: the innkeeper's beautiful daughter, Georgette. So, to forget the girl of his dreams, Ollie follows the advice of crafty Foreign Legion officer François and, without a second thought, joins the elite military force. But then, the two friends realise that jumping through hoops for three measly cents a day is not their cup of tea. As insubordination leads to more problems and a disastrous climactic ending, a question arises. Was it worth the trouble?
