| Tauno and Ansa in court
Tauno Palo plays a young judge named Aarne Horn who goes home. There he meets and falls for the beautiful Helena Talpia. He finds out his father has given the wrong judgment for her brother during the Finnish civil war.Yrjö Norta and T.J. Särkkä are the directors of Jumalan Tuomio (1939).It's based on Arvi Pohjanpää's play. It's a serious drama with two of the biggest names of the time.Tauno Palo and Ansa Ikonen make a great couple in this movie as they made in many other movies.Yrjö Tuominen plays his father Julius Horn.Irja Elstelä is the mother Ellen. Her real life husband Ossi Elstelä plays vicar Hannes Berger.Kyllikki Väre is Karin Berger who wants Aarne.Wilho Ilmari plays Antti Peltoniemi who's interested in Helena.Aku Korhonen gives a great performance as the boozing Gran.Jalmari Rinne is head of the constabulary Porras.Kaarlo Angerkoski portrays doctor Kaukola.Rauli Tuomi is student-teacher.This movie is filled with big emotions. There's a lot of drama in the end when they are at court Helena being accused of killing her baby. This movie is 70-years old.I think time has done no harm to it.
