Continuity
When George Brent and Pat O'Brien fall into the Hong Kong harbor the ship is well under way and would not have been motionless next to them while they struggled in the water.
Incorrect: Merle Oberon's character had not yet boarded the ship when this occurs. The ship appears to be under way because of other ships moving in the background.
Factual errors
The doctor states that Joan Ames has angina pectoris and that nothing can be done for her. In fact, nitroglycerine had been used for the treatment of angina since the 1870s.
This movie appears to be set in 1940 which is when it was released. Pat O'Brien remarks that George Brent is being taken back to San Quentin to be hanged for murder. California switched from hanging to the gas chamber in 1938 and had already used it. That is something what would have been widely known in California when this movie was made.
