This story seems familiar ,oh yes, Jeannette McDonald and Nelson Eddy in " Sweethearts, 1938. they said that Hitler had a clamp down against swing and jazz. Well, it's in this picture through out as well as operetta music. But music can be a tool for propaganda. Take a certain talk show radio host that uses rock n roll.Well, Will Holler and Loni Carell, played by Johanne Heesters, still has the record of the world's oldest still living actor and still active ,105 and Dora Komar. everything is perfect their modern operetta. Both of their agents get along too .Fita Benkhof and Paul Kemp both played their agents . Her' s Isolde Brummel and his Zeisig.I got confused about him i had thought he was Rudolph Fogler. Well everything turns out all right until one of the performances, Will, decides to hold his voice longer and right on the side of the stage her agent tells Dora , quietly, to close her hands over his mouth. That's when the fight's starts and disagreements. Then his old dance mate and friend, played by Jutta Von Alpen as Zofe Be, i don't know why the script writer put the name Lonie Carell too in this character, then the jealousy gets worse .After they get married they both think that they are better performers's than each other and the fight continue's. The agent's fight each other but they both later make up and try to get the team back together again. Zofe is a successful night club jazz tap dancer. I think Herr Gobels was trying to really distract audiences.Thsi is why probably Ms Alpen Left the cinema after a second picture due to the Third Reich. Their one scene between Joe and Dora that they are fighting with their voices's and piano,s to show who is a better singer . Then a chorus of men and Women and a jazz swing orchestra shows up and it turns into a big musical number . No polka music here. It's pretty entertaining too
