At one point, Porky's gun stops shooting and Daffy asks if he's out of ammunition. When Porky confirms this, Daffy waves his arms and shouts "Praise the Lord!" This is a reference to the 1942 Frank Loesser song "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition."

The title is based on a combination of the Marx Brothers movie "Duck Soup" and the old expression "from soup to nuts," meaning that a wide variety of topics will be covered.

Vitaphone production reel #1237A.

The first time the "I haven't got bumps on my head" phrenology gag is used. It is used again in Bowery Bugs (1949).
