The director Leo Longanesi started the film at the end of 1943 as "Dieci minuti di vita" but the production quickly shut down because of the war. When the shooting resumed in 1944, it was with a new director, (Nino Giannini), a new cinematographer (Domenico Scala) and a largely reworked script by the same Giannini and Paola Ojetti. All the main actors were also replaced, the original consisted of: Clara Calamai, Umberto Melnati, Assia Noris and Giuditta Rissone. The film was released only in the spring of 1945 with only Giannini's name as director.
