A millionaire joins the Navy hoping to find a girl who'll marry him for himself, not for his money. A beautiful gold-digger who works at a resort hotel sets out to get him.
One of over 700 Paramount Productions, filmed between 1929 and 1949, which were sold to MCA/Universal in 1958 for television distribution, and have been owned and controlled by Universal ever since. However, due to legal complications, this particular title was not included in the original television package and was not televised until several years later.
Most existing prints - including the version shown on the satellite and cable movie networks - are missing 40 seconds of the Spike Jones production number, "Chloe". The telephone joke following Red Ingle getting a mouthful of snow involved Eleanor Roosevelt, and would have been considered outdated after the death of FDR. Sacrificed along with the joke was a sequence with Spike Jones playing the pinball machine.
