Murat was Napoleon's brother-in-law for he married his sister Caroline. They were king and queen of Napoli and were fighting over power. The title is adequate for Murat ,who, after the fall of the empire ,was executed .These "Beaux Jours" were short-lived ,if there were any.

This looks like an operetta with songs and the story is not unlike those about Empress Sissi by Ernst Marischka .

The plot: there's a conspiracy against the king ,in order to give back Napoli to king Ferdinand .One of the plotters is a singer in the court of king Murat. This musician is none other than Prince Castelli whose singing and good looks win over all the ladies.
