Robert Clampett left the cartoon unfinished when he left Warner Bros, having reportedly only supervised the recording of the dialogue. The film was completed by Arthur Davis, who had inherited Clampett's unit.

Mac and Tosh's voices switch back and forth throughout this first cartoon, sometimes even in mid-sentence. This would be quite different from the rest of the series, in which each character maintained his own distinctive voice throughout.

Unlike all the other Goofy Gopher cartoons, the gophers are gray, not brown.
